This charming house in Bernardsville was built in the 1920's by the current owner's grandfather. Since it
was built the kitchen has undergone several renovations, including one where the back porch was included into the kitchen
footprint. The owner wanted a new kitchen with a vintage look. We selected colors, finishes and decorative objects that reflect
her vision.

A major change to the kitchen was in the space planning. Rearranging the appliances and moving the back door
eased traffic flow. An island was added in the center of the kitchen creating a more informal eating area. Benches with operating
lids were placed on either side of the radiator. Now there is storage space for small objects like the dog's leash or garden
gloves. Pegs above the beadboard become a place to hang light jackets.
