Garden Design/Clean-up
This home is located near the Great Swamp Wildlife Preserve in New Jersey. The project includes beds in the front yard as well
as the back. A more pressing need was a party to be held at the end of the summer. The plantings needed to be deer resistant,
low maintenance and colorful. We started our garden landscape in the backyard. I included mostly late summer, early fall flowering
perenials. An exception was taken by planting a large crepe myrtle in a more sheltered spot near the house. In the fall we plan
to continue in the front of the house by addressing the area near the front door with more shrubs and trees.

Fall Clean-up
|
|
As a fall clean-up project the homeowners wanted to address landscaping in their front yard. We removed most of the old shrubs, railroad ties, two small trees and the brick walkway. Added to the newly designed beds were four boxwood and two Japanese dogwood trees. In addition we added a new cement paver walkway which follows a similiar path to the original, but is wider and more inviting. Next spring we intend to revisit the beds, add more deer resistant perennials and replace some more shrubs.
