This house originally a sawmill is on the national historic registry. The kitchen had been remodeled in the 1980's. Although it was not in bad shape, the current owners wanted a design style more sympathetic to the age of the house, with modern conveniences. The proposal includes old materials such as soapstone countertops and a slate floor. In addition, a fireplace in the sitting room will get a facelift of fieldstone, the mantel a reclaimed wood beam. The appliances will be stainless steel. The project start date is Spring 2007.

Coffee Bar Elevation
The coffee bar is designed to appear like freestanding furniture. It has however electric to support several coffee type machines. A pull out counter rests on the drawer below. Fieldstone covers the wall behind the unit. The fireplace shares this common wall.
